Transition in Traffic & Transport Seminar
March 5 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Increased urbanization has caused city populations to skyrocket, putting a strain on the accessibility, sustainability & liveability of large cities. Meanwhile we also face changing global challenges such as aging populations, digitalization, automation and energy transition, creating problems such as global warming, air pollution, model shift, traffic congestion and unsafe traffic conditions, which will profoundly affect the public and private sector.
Learn more from Jeroen Borst, TNO’s Program Manage Digitalization about how TNO’s Urban Strategy platform enables cities to incorporate New Urban Mobility. Consisting of connected & automated vehicles, zero emission transport and mobility as a service, New Urban Mobility has the potential to create the right conditions for accessible, sustainable & livable cities.
TNO’s Urban Strategy is a data driven digital platform for holistic urban planning & design, enabling cities to strategically plan and manage Urban Mobility to account for spatial and environmental impact and effects on modal shift and road use. With the connection to IoT, Urban Strategy supports the plan-do-check-act cycle in integrated city planning and management.
During this talk TNO will also provide insights on how Digital Twins are being developed for cities are used to gain better insight in the spatial, environmental and energy impact of new mobility through Amsterdam as a case study.
